Twentythree Records - is the digital home of Fila Brazillia

The label was founded in 1999 by Steve Cobby and David McSherry of Fila Brazillia along with Sim Lister of Heights of Abraham. From the early 90s to 1999 both Fila and Heights had been part of the distinctive Hull-based label Pork Recordings ("Pork material is always quirky and surprising, quite brilliant" DJ Magazine 1994) - before transferring their catalogues to Twentythree Records.

In 2006 Steve Cobby and Sim Lister went on to establish Steel Tiger Records; home to (amongst others) J*S*T*A*R*S, The Cutler, Chieftain, The Solid Doctor, Heights of Abraham, and Hey, Rube!

Fila Brazillia

"Affectionately known by fans and music business bods as the "top mixers about town" the Hull exports are the howitzer in Pork Recordings' eclectic arsenal. Despite their humble beginnings they are the remixers of choice for everyone from Radiohead to Busta Rhymes. Since the early 1990's Dave McSherry and Steve Cobby - aka Fila Brazillia - have released a gaggle of beautiful albums which have shimmered through Balearic chill-proper through to post-funk with a cheeky nod towards the divine lounge of Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto. Raise a mojito to the gods of downtempo beauty." - Matt Keating / The Guardian, March 2002

Moving

'Heights of Abraham' and 'The Solid Doctor' have moved to Steel Tiger Records where they expect to be creating/recording more music quite soon.
